Having gone 72 grueling holes in vintage Texas heat and wind to secure his first PGA Tour win, Sang-Moon Bae chose not to play 36 more to try and secure an Open Championship spot on Monday.

After busy week, Then prepares for Thunderbird
Gabriella Then is a busy girl. After qualifying for her third U.S. Women's Open last week in Beaumont, Calif., the 17-year-old won the Scott Robertson Memorial Junior Sunday. She now will prepare for her third Thunderbird International Junior.

Texas State's Jonsdottir, Puisite off to fast start
In two starts this fall, two Texas State women's players have won individual medalist honors.
Players of the week: Valdis Jonsdottir, Texas State; Maya Parsons, Jacksonville State
Jonsdottir, a senior, shot rounds of 74-72-73 to finish at 3-over 219 at Silver Lakes Golf Club in Glencoe, Ala., and tie for medalist honors at the Chris Banister Gamecock Classic.
Team of the week: Texas State
The Bobcats used a final-round 1-over 289, the second-lowest score in program history, to finish at 15-over 879 at the Chris Banister Gamecock Classic – 24 shots ahead of runner-up Middle Tennessee State.
Campbell, Jacksonville St. lead Program Challenge
Campbell posted the low round in the men's division of the Golfweek Program Challenge to share the 36-hole lead. The Camels recorded a 10-under 278 and share the lead with Jacksonville State at 21-under 555.
